Parimatch license: the terms to check
GLOSSARY

Parimatch license: the terms to check

Reviews use license terms loosely, and the same license can appear under different names. This glossary sets out the terms, so you can match a claim on a review page against the license record itself.

  • License holder
  • License number
  • Curaçao authority
  • Register lookup
READING A LICENSE

What a license claim should show

A license claim is only as useful as the details behind it. At minimum it should name the company that holds the license, give a license number and point to a public record you can check. A claim that lacks one of these is an open question, not a fact.

TERM MAP

How the license terms fit together

The holder is the company, the number identifies the license and the authority is the body that issued it. Each one needs to match the others before a claim is worth trusting.

  • Holder

The legal company named on the license. Several review sites name different holders for Parimatch, so a name on its own is not enough.

  • Number

The reference the authority issued. Reviews quote more than one number for the same claim, so compare each one against the record.

  • Authority

The body that issued the license. Reviews cite a Curaçao gaming license for Indian users, which is different from permission under Indian law.

  • Operator site

The address and terms the operator publishes. Its license section should match the record you find in the register.

BASICS

Basic license terms

The starting words for any license check.

Gaming license

Permission from a licensing authority to offer gambling services. It is granted under one jurisdiction's rules and does not carry over automatically to every country.

Jurisdiction

The legal area whose rules apply to a license. A license from one jurisdiction does not on its own settle what applies in another.

Register

A public list of licensed companies or licenses, kept by the authority. It is the best place to confirm a holder and a number.

Holder

The company legally responsible for the licensed service. Check that the holder named on the operator's site matches the register.

Offshore license

A license issued in a jurisdiction outside the country where the users are. It does not settle whether local law permits the service.

ADVANCED

Terms that confuse readers

Terms that appear in legal notes and reviews, and what they mean in practice.

Online money game

A game where players stake money in the expectation of a return. India's 2025 Act prohibits offering these, and whether a given service is one is a legal question.

Promotion and advertising

Under the 2025 Act, promoting online money games is also prohibited. Whether a particular page counts as advertising depends on its content, which is a legal question.

PMLA

The Prevention of Money Laundering Act, under which the Enforcement Directorate investigates money-laundering offences. A search under the PMLA is an investigative step.

FIR

First Information Report, the initial police record of a complaint. An FIR records an allegation and is not a finding.

Verification

The identity check that unlocks larger withdrawals. For Parimatch the help centre describes an Aadhaar number and an SMS code.

EXAMPLES

Reading a license claim in practice

Two examples show how the terms fit a real claim. The point is not to decide the legal question, but to see which check each kind of claim needs.

  • A claim with a number

A review gives a license number. Look that number up in the authority's register and check that the holder matches the operator's terms. A match is a starting point, not a verdict on legality in India.

  • A claim with no number

A site says it is licensed but gives no number. Treat the claim as unconfirmed until the holder and the number are published and can be checked.

Asking support about a license
SUPPORT

Asking support about a license

Support can point you to where a license record is kept, but a support reply is not the same as the register. Ask for the holder name and number in writing, then compare them with the public record yourself.

  • Ask in writing

A written reply gives you a record of the holder and number the operator gave you.

  • Use confirmed channels

Use support channels listed on the operator's own site. Goal.com India lists live chat, email and WhatsApp.

  • Keep the reply

Save the reply with its date. If it conflicts with the register, the register and the published terms carry more weight than a chat message.

QUESTIONS

License questions

Answers on the license terms. They do not say whether a service is lawful for you.

What license does Parimatch hold?

Review sites say a Curaçao gaming license, but they disagree on the holder and the number. Confirm both on the operator's own site and in the public register.

Does a Curaçao license make Parimatch legal in India?

No. A license from one jurisdiction does not by itself settle what Indian law permits. India's 2025 Act applies to services run from outside India.

Where can I find the license number?

Start in the terms or footer of the operator's own site, then match the number against the authority's register. A number that appears only on review sites needs checking before you rely on it.

Why do sources give different holder names?

Reviews often repeat each other, copy old information and sometimes describe a different company under the same brand. Compare the operator's terms with the register instead.

Is a license the same as a safety check?

No. A license is one check. Verification, withdrawal terms, age rules and support access are separate checks.

What does the register show?

It shows whether a company holds a license, under which number, and sometimes the license status. It does not confirm that a service is lawful for users in every country.
